Here are my sketches for the whole streamline thing for sketch class. Its supposed to be a computer tower, but more people have been thinking its a CD player with speakers. I like the style direction, but I still need to work out where all the drives and doodads are going to go.

I really loved the form that you played with--it's rather far removed from the usual desktop that I envision, which I struggled with alot! BAh..technicalities don't matter. Maybe if you put it in the side panels or something and made them removable? That would actually grant pretty easy access to the motherboard and give a good leeway to adding additional ram or harddrives! :D
The problem is some towers are placed in an enclosed shelf, so front access is the only real option. I'll see what I can come up with.
